Yoga: Root: Yuj- to join, to attach, to unite the mental, physical and spiritual. The literal translation : YOKE
So much info, so many choices. Thats the beauty of todays world where you do have that many choices and its open to all. The east has come to the west and we have welcomed it with wide open arms and hearts. Many people have embraced yoga and many are still intimidated by it. So, lets try and take the intimidation factor out.
You do not have to be flexible when you begin, this is where you will learn to be flexible. Start at a beginner level and take time, nothing happens overnight. It took me 1 year to finally sit on my heels and others I know even longer.
As one of my teachers always says” This is called a yoga practice, not a yoga perfect” it takes time.
Try as many styles as you can find. There will be one you keep going back to and thats the one to focus on and will become your base. Listen to your body it will tell you what you need. Try Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Hatha, Kundalini, and many more....... There will be times you just need a good restorative class.
Once again take TIME “listen to your body” it will tell you what you need.
